North Swell Season 2012: Ballin in Baler
It was a year ago when i first saw Cemento Reef in action, and immediately i was intimidated by its power and size, not to mention the crowd (there were 30+surfers) trying to take off on one spot,and only having a 5’2 retro fish quad as my board, so most of the time i was scrambling for shoulders and merely making the drop, DISMAL.
On a good day with the right conditions, Cemento can give a world class barrel that every surfer is dreaming of.
Getting barreled and making it out, no sweat at all for this local, flying out of the barrel with a smile, totally priceless!
Okoy Rojo of Mahdox surf knows this spot really well, coming out of a barrel and big hack to tailslide is one of his signature combo move.
Having always wanted to come back and surf this place again, finally was able to do so with the right board and the right attitude,and the reward was an awesome tube!
